Hi, I’m Amit Mitbawkar.
I always love the “about me” page on websites like this because they’re written in the third person …even though they’re typically written by the the owner of the site.
So after Amit Mitbawkar made several attempts to sound smarter than he really is, by writing about himself in the third person, he quickly abandoned that approach and decided to write this page like it was a letter to a friend.
Which …in many ways, it is.
Anyway – what do you want to know?
I’m 42 years old. I live in Dubai with my wife, Shama.
We have two kids, and a cat named Bobby.
I’m guessing that’s not the kind of stuff you’re looking for.
You’re probably wondering,
Is This Guy Worth My Time And Attention?
For many readers, my answer is NO.
For some reason, people equate “Financial Planning & Investing” to “Get Rich Quick”.
I get it. That’s what attracted me to this profession in 2011 (more on that later).
I thought Making Money Work For Me would be easy and I’d have thousands coming in every day … on autopilot.
Well, it wasn’t easy.
I do have a consistent second income coming in every quarter …often on auto pilot …but it took lots of work, frustration, and perseverance to get there.
...And it still takes work to keep it all running.
So if you’re not prepared to commit to roughly ten times more effort to sticking to your financial plan and achieving your goals, than you are expecting, I’m not your guy.
I am an independent financial advisor. But here’s why I’m telling you this.
Start going down the “Investments” rabbit hole, and you’ll see all kinds of "bank wealth managers" (salespeople) and investment platforms telling you how to get rich by investing in their products, and all kinds of hype on the “latest investment ideas” for you.
Does some of it work?
Probably. In the short term. But if you rely on that, you won’t have consistency and certainty in achieving your financial goals.
You will end up with an investment that’s looked after (or not) by a bank sales person, and a bad taste in the mouth.
And that is a waste of time. If you want to waste time, go see a movie. It’s more fun.
It’s important you understand what I’m telling you.
I can help you, I just won’t. I’m capable of it, but I refuse to do it.
Because when I hear someone say, “What’s the best investment”, what I’m really hearing is, “I want the safest investment with no commitment …lowest charges, best returns, and instant accessibility.”
And that really translates to “I want you to wave a magic wand, and perform a magic trick for me”.
Look, Creating A Good Financial Plan, and Making Your Money Work For You is HARD WORK. yes, when it’s all up and running, it can be just like you imagined: Passive income and money while you sleep.
But that takes HARD WORK to create, and it takes HARD WORK to maintain.
You're Still Here? Good!
Can you believe I just told you flat out that you’re going to receive blatant sales pitches from me?
Well, why wouldn’t I tell you?
I mean c’mon – I’m a “Financial Coach”. We make our money by selling investments that help people achieve their financial goals.
...and it is my ethical responsibility to keep pushing you to stretch yourself, and keep saving and investing money, so you can achieve YOUR financial goals.
I will try to sell you something that's good for you, and I won’t be subtle about it.
However – it’s always preceded by really valuable investment ideas and strategies you can use immediately.
The idea is you’ll say, “Man, Amit's free stuff really helped me. But I don't want try and invest myself, I think I’ll hire Amit to do it for me.”
Pretty simple, right?
I call it “Giving Value First By Actually Helping Them” approach.
Works like a charm.
But you still might be wondering …
Well, the smartest thing to do is to just get some of my free ideas by visiting my website home page.
If you like it, you’ll probably like my advice.
If you don’t like it, you won’t.
But I think I’m supposed to do the whole “self glorifying biography” thing now so here goes:
I came to Dubai in 1997.
The idea was to have a better lifestyle (than back home) make more money, and be successful.
I started with a basic income (to pay for my MBA) and kept looking for more and more opportunities (jobs) to earn better.
Over the years (it's the 20th year running now), my income grew 10 times, but guess what...
...so did my lifestyle expenses as well.
I was Rich (earning more), but Not Wealthy (bank account wouldn't last me long, if I stopped earning)
At that time, I was not in the Financial Advisory business, and didn't know anything about investing or Making My Money Work For Me.
...till I read the book 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad', by Robert Kiyosaki.
It changed my life...
You see, according to Robert Kiyosaki,
I knew that I had to start learning 'How Money Worked, and How To Get Money To Work For Me'.
I joined the financial advisory that was managing my money in 2011. I learnt everything there was to learn about financial planning and a lot about investing (this subject is so vast, that I am still learning).
I wrote a book, 'Creating, Preserving, and Distributing Wealth' in 2012.
I also wrote a number of articles for the newspapers and magazines on money management and personal financial planning.
I also started saving and investing my own money - to see how it all works. I made a lot of mistakes on the way, and lost some money as well, but in the end, my efforts got rewarded.
...it was a trial by fire. I don't wish it on anyone else.
You see, there is a reason why even 'Tiger Woods', has a golf coach. He doesn't play better than Tiger Woods, but he can see his swing from the outside and find areas of improvement.
That's the value of a coach.
I realised that I had to make people aware of the importance of learning about 'How to manage their money and make it work for them', and help them Achieve Their Financial Goals, as they are too busy to do it themselves.
Today, I am the 'Go To Guy' for Directors, General Managers, CEOs and successful professionals, when it comes to Personal Financial Advice, in Dubai.
My main focus is to help you 'Create A Second Income' through investing.
I have formulated a '6-Step Financial Success Guide', which is a fancy way of saying, "I used Robert Kiyosaki's principle (of creating a second income) through saving and investing in financial instruments, NOT property (real estate)".
It is, in my opinion, a no-nonsense and 'common sense' way of having the ability to live free without money worries.
I will also focus on your personal situation - which is a fancy way of saying, "See where you are (with respect to your goals), where you want to be, and suggest the right tailormade solution".
...most of the stuff (is common sense) can be done by you.
For the rest, (the important stuff), I am there for you.
If you like it, share it with the people you care about.
If the free stuff is useful for you, consider contacting me, and I will be glad to help you with your financial goals.
Pretty simple, right?
Thanks for reading this page and now get to work!
